Aluminium is a key element in the global economy and a strategic material for many industrial sectors, thanks in part to its ability to be endlessly recycled without losing quality and its role in reducing environmental impact. Italy is one of the leading countries in Europe in recycling.
From March 5 to 7, 2025, METEF, the international trade fair of reference for the aluminium supply chain organized by Senaf, comes back to BolognaFiere together with MECSPE, for its thirteenth edition, confirming its role as a strategic appointment to face the new challenges of the sector.
The focus will be on sustainability and ecological transition, central topics wide program of this event, which is preparing to welcome companies from the supply chain, offering a unique opportunity to stimulate discussion and promote the latest innovations.
Organized in close collaboration with companies and industry associations, METEF, for 25 years, has covered the entire production cycle: from raw materials to recycling, via machinery, technologies and semi-finished products.
The Aluminum Energy Summit is back
A pivotal event at METEF 2025 will be the third Aluminium Energy Summit, where industry leaders and experts will discuss strategies for decarbonization and energy efficiency, providing a platform to discuss innovative solutions and best practices that will facilitate the transition to a more sustainable industry. The event will offer real insights into optimizing processes and reducing environmental impact throughout the supply chain.
METEF Awards are back: they will reward the most cutting-edge companies in the management of the entire supply chain of a strategic material such as aluminium, recognizing the most original and innovative innovation content proposed, capable of providing high performance and competitive advantages, with particular emphasis on aspects of energy saving, eco-sustainability and safeguarding resources.
New this year, in particular, will be the new category “Closing the STEM Gap,” dedicated to boosting female access in the aluminium sector: a strong signal to enhance talent and promote diversity.
New challenges for aluminium recycling
A special focus will be devoted to the new challenges of aluminium alloys from recycling and the importance of having increasingly innovative processes and technologies, offering an overview of the key role played in this field by Italian companies.
