With the opening of the TAC, GROB Italy extends its support to customers by providing a dedicated environment for experimentation and optimisation of production processes.
GROB Italy has inaugurated the Technology Application Centre (TAC) at its Pianezza site on the outskirts of Turin. This space is a showroom and a laboratory open to customers, where it is possible to test technologies, experiment processes and develop prototypes for various industrial sectors.
A step beyond: active in the production of machine tools and automation systems, with production facilities in Germany, Brazil, China, India, the USA and Italy. The Italian site in Pianezza, born from the acquisition of DMG Meccanica, is today a centre dedicated to the design of electric motor technologies for the industrial, automotive and light mobility sectors.
An experimentation centre for customers
“The GROB Italy TAC is distinguished by its operational function: it does not just display machine tools, but offers companies support in defining machining strategies”. In particular, here it is possible to see the G series 5-axis machining centres in action, together with the automation systems developed by the group.
βIn the world of mechanics, innovation is increasingly becoming a space open to discussion and dialogue between customers and manufacturers. A continuous exchange process that also identifies Grob’s strategic vision for the future of this sector,β says Daniele De Giuseppe, Key Account Manager of GROB Italy.
Supporting companies in the optimisation of machining processes is a team of application engineers, available to suggest programmes and tool paths that exploit the kinematics of GROB machines. In addition, to ensure that technology is kept up-to-date, the CNC centres within the TAC – Technology Application Centre – will be periodically replaced, allowing customers to explore the full range of GROB 5-axis universal machining centres. Applications include automotive, aerospace, medical, general mechanical engineering, toolmaking, pumps and fittings.
