FastWay, one of Italy’s independent Charge Point Operators (CPOs) specializing in High-Power EV charging, has officially launched its urban charging infrastructure in Genoa.
The company has activated two 50 High-Power EV Fast charging stations—located in Via Scribanti near San Martino Hospital and in Via Cecchi in the Foce district—each equipped with two CCS2 DC connectors for sub-one-hour charging sessions.
In addition to these active stations, FastWay has completed the installation of two more 50 kW units in Via Gianelli and Via Caffa, along with six Super Fast stations delivering 120 kW in key locations such as Piazza Piaggio Rocco, Via Cantore, and Via Isonzo. These units are targeted for activation in the coming months and support 30 planned installations in the city by the end of 2025.
A significant portion of these installations falls under Italy’s 2024 National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), where FastWay has 1,207 urban and 173 extra-urban high-speed charging stations approved for funding, totaling approximately €34 million—nearly one-third of all awarded infrastructure.
“Genoa is a strategic location in our expansion roadmap,” said Paolo Esposto, CEO of FastWay. “Despite challenges in securing adequate grid capacity, we’ve implemented a scalable fast-charging network to meet the city’s rising demand for efficient and accessible EV infrastructure.”
All charging stations are positioned near high-traffic points of interest—such as commercial centers and dining hubs—and are fully integrated with the FastWay mobile app and major e-mobility service platforms. Each unit includes a large interactive display offering real-time charging session data and intuitive user instructions.
The initiative is part of FastWay’s broader national objective: to accelerate the shift to sustainable urban mobility through a dense, reliable fast-charging network spanning cities and major roadways across Italy.
