The new Lancia Ypsilon told itself that she was the most efficient vehicle in the fifth edition of Europe’s largest independent electric vehicle test, recording the lowest energy consumption among the 12 tested models at just 15.9 kWh/100 km.

A Real-World Efficiency Test
The test, conducted on Rome’s Grande Raccordo Anulare (GRA) under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of the Environment, assessed vehicles under real-world driving conditions. Each model navigated daily traffic with climate control activated and a driver onboard until reaching 5% battery charge. Thanks to its aerodynamic efficiency (with a drag coefficient of 0.29), lightweight structure (approximately 1,550 kg), and advanced technology, the Ypsilon stood out with an operating cost of just €9.7 per 100 km.

Luca Napolitano, CEO of Lancia, commented: “This recognition proves that the new Lancia Ypsilon is not only an elegant and technologically advanced electric car but also a reference for efficiency and running costs. Our mission is to offer vehicles that combine iconic design, cutting-edge technology, and a concrete approach to sustainable mobility. We are proud to see our Ypsilon emerge as the most efficient vehicle in the ‘From 100% to 5%’ test.”

Powertrain Options
The new Lancia Ypsilon is available in two advanced powertrain configurations, combining efficiency, performance, and sustainability:

-100% Electric: Featuring a 156 hp (115 kW) motor and a 51 kWh battery, this version offers a range of up to 403 km (WLTP cycle). Fast charging enables a 20%-80% charge in just 24 minutes or a 100 km range boost in only 10 minutes.

-Hybrid Version: Equipped with a 1.2L three-cylinder gasoline engine and a 48V hybrid system delivering 100 hp (74 kW), this option ensures efficiency, reliability, and fuel consumption as low as 4.6 L/100 km (WLTP cycle). It is an ideal choice for those seeking a versatile and sustainable urban and extra-urban vehicle.
