Altair, top player in computational intelligence, has announced that applications are now open for the 2025 Altair Enlighten Award and submissions will close on June 16, 2025.
Presented annually in collaboration with the Center for Automotive Research (CAR), the Enlighten Award recognizes groundbreaking solutions in sustainability and lightweighting within the automotive industry. These innovations aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, optimize water and energy consumption, and enhance material reuse and recycling.
A wide range of categories
The 2025 Enlighten Award will feature several categories: the Sustainable Product category will recognize vehicles or key systems that advance emissions reduction, material circularity, and safety. The Sustainable Process category will highlight production and engineering processes that cut emissions and promote recycling. The Module Lightweighting category will reward weight reduction in vehicle modules or components, while the Enabling Technology category will honor innovations that support vehicle lightweighting. Additionally, the Future of Lightweighting category will showcase emerging materials and technologies with significant potential in the field. The award will also introduce the Responsible AI category, recognizing ethical AI adoption across the automotive value chain, and the Sustainable Computing category, which will reward energy-efficient and eco-friendly digital solutions.
